May your weekends be filled with those very things.
Blessings.

Close and yet
today, i discovered the gray kitty that i always see on the sidewalk, quiet & quick in the night, has been hanging out in my garage.
we surprise each other in the garden & I surprised him when he was unaware of me sitting in the warm summer nite on the porch. i believe he was calling it bedtime.
you can tell he belongs to no one, & belongs no where.
he is a beautiful thing, with a smooth gray coat.
and bright green eyes that fix on me when he begins to
dart away, & I call 'kitty, kitty.'
in that moment when he doesn't know if to run or to trust
we seem very close
yet extremely distant.
Picture: Internet (i would be surprised to get a photo of him w/his speed!)

"Touch the Water"
"Faith is raising the sail of our little boat
until it is caught up in the soft winds above
and picks up speed,
not from anything within itself,
but from the vast resources of the universe around us."
~W. Ralph Ward.
On this hot weekend day, I reflected on being calmed, centered, loved, in the moment, relaxed, forgiven, creative, excited, happy, peaceful and very, very blessed.
Here's to raising our sails :-) Happy Weekend, all!

Love Thursday: "Them"
When I see them, I notice
- the fire
- the passion
- the tenderness
- the smiles
- the stares
- the laughter
- the knowing
- the feeling
- the touching
- the wanting
- the aching
- the dreaming
- the feeling
and the love
that exists between the beautiful Man
and his beautiful Queen
as they share
one soul

and his beautiful Queen
as they share
one soul

My Story
Ahh... hand writing. By hand. With those strange, unfamiliar instruments called "pen and/or pencil." Using your hands - not a keyboard. Remember the art of that? :-)
I'm diving head on into this handwritten project. For my birthday, my sister, Paulette, gifted me with a fabulous purple journal along with a year long project.
The project is "My Life Story... One Day At Time!" Inside the jar are 365 strips of motivation. Pull a slip from the jar and expand on it in the journal.
By the end of next year, I should have quite a story to share or to keep all to myself.
Thank you, sister. I love your thoughtfulness. This is genius. It forces me to think, be creative, dig into my memory bank, and actually spend time writing about each subject. I am excited to get started - especially with the first slip I pulled you see. That made me laugh at my teenage self and whatever kinda crazy thoughts I was having back then.
Here's to my life story!!!

Home
Sunday was very hot so I stuck close to the house. It wasn't comfortable enough to go out until the evening. So, to make sure my camera didn't get bored, I shot around the outside of the house.
I love bringing the "outside - in". I love getting old pillows, rugs, throws, etc. from garage sales & using them outside. Nothing matches and anything goes.
I thank mom for bestowing on me her wicker set. It sets the porch off just perfectly.
Would you like a visit to sit on the porch or patio and let all your stresses flow away? :-)

Love Thursday: Judgment
In light of the jury verdict in the Casey Anthony matter, it amazes me how hate runs rampant. I believe when we hear even the most heinous news in the world, we need to hold in and redirect the hatred in a more positive direction. We are no better than one another to judge, no matter how easy it is to go with the directional flow.
This case, as in the O.J. Simpson case, and as in a local case in Cleveland of accused serial killer, Anthony Sowell, brings out droves of folks to camp out in front of court houses screaming hatred. Really? What does that show, and what does it really accomplish?
In the Casey Anthony case, we know that a precious little girl died, we don't know at whose hands even though with all that the media has shoved down our throats, we cannot point a finger at her mother, uncle or grandparents. We hear more sordid details of matters, of folks' lives, their skeletons & bones in their closets than we really need to know, and this makes us judge the person under the spotlight.
But remember - God said HE is the judge and the jury of all. Vengence is his only. So when I hear news about this and that, I don't jump to judgment - I pray for all in the situation and let it go. Because one day - everything will come to the light of day for all of us, so we need to worry about getting ourselves in check & not judge others.
On this Love Thursday, this is my message. Let's try to form a chain of love - like the Morning Glory vine in my front yard. This morning while I had my coffee & photoed these, this post came to me. Peace, blessings and certainly - Love Thursday. :-)
Pictures by: me :-}. the first Morning Glories of the season. They will cover my entire row of shrubbery in the front yard. Each year, the colors blend from deep purple to nearly light/white blue. Truly "glory-ous!!"
