Sunday

1 Chronicles 16:11

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
"Spread out your petition before God, and then say, "Thy will, not mine, be done." The sweetest lesson I have learned in God's school is to let the Lord choose for me." –D.L. Moody

A constant reminder to myself: GOD's will be done. Not mine.

Down time

"Time is a very healing place, one in which you can grow."  ~Denise Tanner

With time off of work, one thing I never thought I would do is sleep. Then again, I stay up 'late' because I can right now. After the house has gone to bed, I have total quiet with no one asking me anything or asking anything of me. Bliss.

I have still been getting up to get Son up. There are a few things I would def. need to check; like what he's wearing, how much breakfast is he eating; reminding him of the time. Oh, and to tie his shoes (lol.)

It's been feeling good to crawl back into bed once Son leaves & I give the dogs their time outside, but then I get the noise of the rest of the world; garbage trucks, school buses, city repair workers, lawn mowers. Scream.

Still my precious time alone seems short.I need to realize that downtime doesn't equal house work. Do I know how to have downtime? Since tomorrow is the last of our warm days (I HOPE those 4 days of heat wasn't Indian Summer), I will get out & soak up this last bit of warmth. With camera in hand, of course. :-)

"Life Is..."

Life is a song - sing it.

Life is a game - play it.

Life is a challenge - meet it.

Life is a dream - realize it.

Life is a sacrifice - offer it.

Life is love - enjoy it.
Here's to 4-1/2 days of vacation :-)

Upgrade

Tell me, what right do I have to ever have a pity party day when I am so blessed?
I go about my business and my life, thankful, but not really knowing
  • how it is to have chemo, radiation, biopsies, neropathy, nausea, hair loss
  • or to have to use a cane to walk, to be so, so thankful to wake up, to live another day
  • to celebrate another birthday, to not be in constant pain
While the people I know that do suffer from such things
  • shine their light their brightest
  • give testament to milestones with pure joy
  • walk marathons
  • travel more, love more, live more and relish their moments more
  • and live in their moments more
My attitude stays in a constant state of upgrade.

Sunday

It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain. ~

Randoms & Sunrises

"Backyard sunrise"
"Being a passenger"

Sunrise in motion
I was a passenger this morning so I had a chance to shoot a couple of sunrise shots out the window. It was magnificent.

Son will be 25 on the 5th of next month. We have been having 'adult' issues with him re: s-e-x. I often have to remind myself, even though he is autistic, he IS a grown young man, so it's been a rather delicate thing to handle. I knew the day would come & I hope I'm guiding him in the right direction. This is usually a father/son
issue, but as I am both, I did my best. Lol. Sigh...

I have 4-1/2 days of vacation I need to take before my 11th year anniversary on the 29th, so next week, I will work 1/2 a day, then be off the rest of the week. I am looking forward to it. I am hoping to organize myself photo-wise, craft-wise, reading wise, slowly break down the yard/patio/porch for the winter & spend some time with mom.

But mostly I'm hoping to relax, slow down & bask in the glow of not having any place to be. :-)

Magic

When God blew me a kiss from the heavens, I thought 'it's DEFINITELY a kind of magic.'

Isaiah Chapter 41:19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:

Love Thursday's Pink Pumpkins

I stopped @ Home Depot yesterday to see the 'pink' pumpkins in honor of October being Breast Cancer month. I thought they'd be more 'pink', but it's a good cause. Proceeds go to Breast Cancer Awareness; get one & show support; there are not many left :-)

Fall eye candy

Who can pass up the colors of a roadside veggie stand? Not me. Thanks to the guys running it for letting me intrude in their space; they were totally cooperative. :-)
