When All Is Said & Done

Like a moth to a flame....

Words cannot be unsaid
Feelings cannot be unfelt
Hearts cannot unbeat
Fire cannot unburn

Once the words are spoken
They are replayed like a tape
Once the feelings are felt
They're trapped with no escape

Once the heart has beaten
And feels in such a way
The happiness & lightness
You will want to that feeling to stay

Once the fire of your soul
Has been lit & gently stoked
That is when all is said and done
I surrender to being wrapped in your cloak

Carry On Tuesday word phrase: when all is said & done
Picture; tracey

  3. Hi Tracey, I envy, only in a good way, those who write good poetry. Did you write this? I've tried my hand at it several times and have only shared two of my poems on my blog. The rest are hidden away in a notebook. This is a beautiful poem and I love your photo.

    1. Yes, Chris, my dear - this is an original right off the top of my head. I find it very easy to write poetry if I don't 'think' about it; I just sit @ the keyboard & let it flow without a beat; however, if I think about it too long, I get all jumbled. I am sure your poems are as beautiful as your pictures - you should do us all a favor and let them out of hiding. :-) Blessings to you.
